Welcome
to the home of The Williamsburgers—an independent sitcom pilot with
all new stereotypes.
The Williamsburgers was written in 2003 and modeled on the 1980s British
television comedy The
Young Ones, but set in the hipster neighborhood of Williamsburg,
Brooklyn.
The show was pitched to MTV2 and Comedy Central in 2004 but never found
traction. Finally in 2006 the original writers decided to go broke and
make it themselves.
To create the pilot, the director rented a large factory space in lower
manhattan and built a set that was used for the primary two days of shooting.
Work was then completed with several off-site shoots over the course of
late 2006 and early 2007 to get to the final edit, completed in the beginning
of June 2007.
The
22-minute pilot is now completed and has been submitted to two TV festivals.
A screening/party of the pilot will be held Sunday, July 8th at 7:00pm
in Williamsburg at Casa diBorough, 19 Frost. Contact us for more information.
The show took a lot of people a lot of work to complete—we hope
you like it!
